Dental practice and the educational process required to become a dental professional have always been time-intensive activities. Dental practice has increasing business management demands; and as financial pressures increase, less time will be available to confer with consultants or to find needed information in comprehensive reference texts. Similarly changes in dental education are placing strains on student and resident time. This is because of the need to learn new concepts and clinical techniques as an addition to an already packed curriculum. These realities of times constraints in modern dental practice and education threaten to encroach upon the most central goal of dentistry: “Quality Patient Care’’.
